Introduce a Bill to Amend the Schedule I Classification of Marijuana under the Controlled Substances Act of 1970.

Created by K.M. on September 05, 2013

I petition you, Mr. President, to introduce a bill designed with the sole intent of amending the Schedule 1 classification of cannabis under the Controlled Substance Act of 1970. I petition you, 100,000 Americans, to click the appropriate button.
State legislatures have legalized cannabis in direct conflict with the Controlled Substances Act because it accurately reflects the will of the state's citizens. There is massive public support for legalizing cannabis at the state and federal level. An elected official, even a President, who respects this support has actively contributed to the health of our democracy.
We the People have spoken and find an amendment to the Controlled Substances Act legalizing marijuana to be reasonable.
