introduce a bill to eliminate contributions and benefits from lobbyists and special interests to members of congress

Created by N.G. on October 26, 2011

Occupy wall street (OWS) is all about corporations controlling the behavior of congress. Corporate strategies such as influence peddling, and providing special benefits to congressional members and staff undercuts the primary role of members of congress to represent constituents. At the very least, every member of congress and all of their staff must declare annually, in writing, that they are free from corporate influence and reaffirm commitment to the people they represent. Penalties for violating this oath must be clear and severe. If a similar law currently exists, it must be revisited and rewritten to operate correctly and assure a return to the original principles governing a representational congress
