We the People petition the regulation of industries that use and produce Styrofoam which has a known shelf-life of thousands of years creating unnecessary landfill waste. This waste leeches into our water supplies creating diseases for wildlife and people which creates more expenses for healthcare.
New York City (http://bit.ly/skSwYb) and LA (http://lat.ms/lRWOk0) have already begun such measures towards phasing out the use of Styrofoam.
We call for a Bill at the Federal Level that puts an end to all Styrofoam production in US by 2015 while creating tax incentives for companies that are now creating sustainable biodegradable alternatives such as http://www.worldcentric.org or other such businesses: http://bit.ly/sUh2LK
