I believe that not enough is being done to stop the agony that an American Military Families face.
Personally, I have experienced the loss of a family patriarch because of war. The most disturbing thing about it was that no one did anything to help us after our patriarch died. He was the recipient of the Silver Star for Gallantry in Action during World War Two. We was also awarded 5 Bronze Stars and a Purple Heart when a bullet struck him across his forehead. Unfortunately, that wound caused PTSD, and he ended his life shortly before I was born.
My Military Family was never the same. Siblings stopped talking. Drug abuse and mental illness tore the family apart. My father became withdrawn from family which resulted in divorce. Nobody from the Army or the D.O.D. was there to help.
