Introduce a bill into legislation allowing employees of gas stations, etc. that work alone on 3rd shift to be armed.

I work 3rd shift alone at a convenience store in Anderson, Indiana. During my shift, I constantly get threatened with violence and then some. I can't count how many times people have threatened to cause myself and other coworkers bodily harm, going so far as to threaten us with weapons. My coworkers, my customers and myself don't feel safe during moments like that because you never know which person will actually follow through with a threat. My company's policy prohibits us from having anything that could be considered a weapon on the premises and I have been reduced to taking a torque wrench to work as protection. While that keeps the idiots away that just want a fight, but what am I to do if someone produces a handgun? Beg for my life? I served my country for four years.
