We the people issue grievence this day with the elected officials issueing increases to their pay without review or approval by their employers, the American public. We propose that a standard annual salary for elected officials be enacted into law that is equal to the average annual salary of the people represented (i. e. state / district / etc.) This would be based on data available at the time of their election. This would encourage elected officials to encourage economic growth in the areas they represent to increase their pay.
