I feel that the penalties and fees associated with Aggressive Driving and Speeding could be improved by implementing a Federal Penalty based upon a Percentage of the Driver's/Offender's Annual Income.
It has been my experience that drivers of Larger Passenger Vehicles, Sports Vehicles, and Persons of Higher Affluence tend drive faster and more aggressively than most drivers of other vehicles. I feel that a citation based upon a good percentage of their annual income will be a better deterrent against these dangerous habits than our current penalizing schedule, and will increase revenue in this area of law.
It is my opinion that our current level of penalties and fines do not adequately address these extremely dangerous activities/habits.
