While initially aimed at providing people from worldwide with an equal fair chance of immigrating to the United States, the electronically-held annual Diversity Visa (DV) immigration lottery has become subject to multiple abuses over the past years.
In particular, swindlers in many countries make multiple fake online entries of their country's entire phonebook to later extort money from the "winners" in exchange of the details of their "win", thus leaving the genuine participants with virtually no chance of winning.
We are therefore asking the US President to introduce a bill proposing a $25 entry fee per each lottery application. Such a fee would not only eliminate all the fake and unserious DV lottery entries but also contribute considerably to the US debt-laden national budget.
