Current law does not allow for protection of civil liberties in digital communications that we've come to expect in everyday communications (like letters or private conversations). Our legal system has not kept up with the times and as a result our privacy is being infringed.
We have an expectation of privacy when using electronic communication mediums. This expectation is enforced by the username and password combination for our own access to accounts and digital encryption of cellular calls to prevent eaves dropping.
Too often, in recent days, have we seen how easy it is for government agencies, in partnership with online entities, to gather digital evidence against a person/s. I want that to change by adding the same oversight and protection we enjoy at the Post Office.
