Term limits for members of Congress would have the following effects:
1. Politicians will no longer be concerned with how their voting will hinder their reelection, thus increasing bipartisanship and long term strategy.
2. It will limit the amount of influence that lobbyist's can have over politicians due to their shortened tenure.
3. It would allow for new individuals to participate and contribute to the future of the nation, thus eliminating career politicians.
4. It will introduce a feeling of urgency to get things done for the benefit of the country and not for the next sound bite or reelection campaign.
There are numerous reasons for this change to our government. Most of all, if it is good enough for the presidency, then it is good enough for everyone else.
