If the president can only serve 8 years, why can these men and women potentially become lifers? Sometimes in Washington, after a period time these people forget how the average American lives. We can not send the same people and expect different results. If the maximum number of years is changed, then the mindset of gridlock might change also. I believe it would also deter people from stockpiling political war chests, where their future is secure, while average Americans have nothing to stockpile. Also, just maybe, an average American can go to Washington, serve his country, and come home knowing they have stood and defended what he or she believes is right politically. We need to to get back to WE the people, not SOME of the people.
