Introduce consequences for failing to pass a budget.

Created by R.C. on April 06, 2014

This petition asks for repercussions for Congress should they, at any time in the future, fail to work together to pass a budget or pass any other basic legislation to keep the United States working. Should this happen again, immediate consequences would be as follows:

Members of Congress would be denied all pay until the basic legislation is passed

After three months, all members of Congress would be subject to immediate impeachment

Congress would have a pay cut not to exceed 50% but be not less than 5%, which would go to pay the national debt. This cut would be decided by the Supreme Court, with both sides presenting arguments as to why basic legislation was not passed.
