Introduce Constitutional amendment to limit campaigns for public office to a period of eight (8) weeks and limit terms.

Created by A.H. on November 18, 2012

The time and money spent on Presidential and Congressional campaigns interferes with proper fulfillment of duties of office and the expenditure of huge amounts of monies which produce neither goods nor services. We, the undersigned, propose limiting campaigning to eight (8) weeks for any public office, and revision of terms of office to provide for two (2) terms of five (5) years for the House of Representatives and two (2) terms of six (6) years for the Senate. In addition, implement a vote of no confidence provision for members of the House.
The framers of the Constitution set a two year term for the House assuming representatives would serve then return to their professions; "politician" was not a profession, nor should it be.
