The level of gun violence in this country is simply unacceptable. The 2nd amendment is so impossibly dated and vague as to basically present a clear and present danger to every man, woman and child in this country who dares to try to lead their everyday lives alongside a populace armed by an insane gun lobby and industry. The only way for the vast majority of citizens to assure their own safety is to repeal the 2nd amendment so that sensible gun control laws can be enacted without the constant threat of Supreme Court intervention.
