The House of Representatives has 435 members, who represent over 300 million people. One person can not adequately represent the interests of 700,000 constituents. Increasing the number of representatives to 1 per 100,000 or less (keeping above the Constitutional minimum of 30,000 in article 1, section 2) would: A) allow for more intimate and accurate representation of the people the government is supposed to serve, B) amplify the voice of the people by allowing new parties to form and keeping the democratic marketplace of ideas fresh and strong, C) nullify or severely dampen the effect of politically motivated gerrymandering that happens in every state every ten years after the census, and D) reduce political elitism and cronyism in the House of Representatives.
