Currently, there are no term limits on the true legislators of our nation. The President of the United States can have little influence on a nation without the support of the Senate and Congress.
The current state of our legislative branch allows for our government to, essentially, to operate as an oligarchy. Our Congress and Senate no longer consist of public servants, but, instead, a group of party-affiliated zealots that other representatives must fall in line with remain silenced.
Limiting the terms of our representatives would not give time (or give less time) for our representatives to work for public interest, rather than succumbing to the corruption of special interest groups.
