We, the undersigned, demand that President Obama introduce to the House and the Senate legislation requiring strict standards for the controlled sale, possession and use of firearms, including but not limited to: banning the sale of firearms at "gun fairs;" banning the sale to non law enforcement personnel of ammunition clips that hold more than nine bullets; banning the sale of all assault weapons; instituting stricter implementation of background checks and identification verification for firearm purchases; longer waiting/cooling off periods before possession of firearms takes place after purchase; and other regulations.
We urge President Obama to stand up to the NRA and use the bully pulpit to focus the will of the People towards the reasonable regulation of firearms in the US.
