Lobbying might be be the single biggest obstacle to democracy in America. It keeps power in the hands of entities who, like corporations or the super rich, can pay to have their agendas catered to on Capitol Hill. The ordinary folks in this country, the ones who struggle to raise a family and pay the bills, have no voice in that process, and that's not what the Founding Fathers had in mind when they wrote the Constitution.
If the government is to truly be of the people, by the people and for the people, then we must level the field, and this can be the start of that process.
