The Obama administration - via its congressional allies - should push legislation through Congress requiring a federal background check, proof of citizenship and a minimum 3 day waiting period for any and all non-hunting firearms purchases (incl. hand guns, shot guns, assault rifles, semi-automatic and automatic weapons) bought via any venue (incl. gun dealers, gun shows, internet).
