Introduce legislation eliminating private financing of campaigns for national office.

Created by S.L. on September 26, 2011

It is estimated that our elected officials spend between 20-50% of their time trying to raise funds for re-election campaigns. Private financing allows for undue influence on those representatives by their largest donors, be they individuals, corporations, or lobbyists. Public financing will free our elected officials to represent the will of the people who put them in office.
