Given the abuse of for profit education and the rampant tuition increases placed upon students and families, student loan debt has become a major impediment to the US economy.
We the People would ask the President to introduce legislation turning the Federal Student Loan program into a grant only program, and forgive student loan debt for all students enrolled in a full time regionally accredited institution since January 1, 2000. All further Financial Aid would be granted on an needs and academic excellence basis only.
