I believe President Obama said he could not do anything about the high price of gas, he said that we must reduce our dependence on oil, develop alternative forms of fuel, and conserve energy. This is all great and we must do it. Also, the President also referred to the $4 a gallon of gas while President Bush was in office and that he couldn't lower the gas price.
While this tax break will not lower the price of gas, it will give many Americans a much needed economic shot in the arm and should stimulate spending in other areas.
I suggest the loss in tax revenu be off set by ending tax breaks and write offs for Corporations., ie AIG $18 billion credit after their bail out.
So, sign my petition and we shall see the President do something about the high price of gas.
