Term limits should be placed on Congressional members to aid in eliminating the gridlock in Washington. Senators should be limited to two terms and Representatives should be limited to 6 terms so as not to exceed 12 consecutive years of service. By limiting "career" politicians, the States would receive more equal representation and theoretically the People would be better represented as opposed to the politcal ambitions of the politician. The Founding Fathers never intended Congressional service to be a career but rather a temporary honor to represent the People's interests of their home states. Just as there are term limits placed on the office of President, there should be term limits on Congress.
