Introduce legislation to institute a 32- hour work week

Created by E.H. on January 24, 2014

Americans work more than any other western nation, and we take the fewest breaks. Not long ago visionary leaders such as Henry Ford reduced the work week to 40 hours a week and most economists of the 1940's and 1950's believed that the work week would continue to decline. Studies have shown that working less hours does not necessarily affect productivity, but corporations are going to be slow to realize that. In addition to creating more jobs this would give wealth to many families across America, in the form of time spent with children, or contributing to the community.
