Introduce legislation to make Daylight Saving Time permanent

Created by A.S. on November 02, 2015

Daylight Saving Time, which increases the length of daylight available to the average person, should replace Standard Time.

The effects of Standard Time are well documented to cause an increase in rates of depression, crime, traffic accidents (the evening commute being dark), health problems, temporary disruption of our circadian rhythms, loss of productivity, and energy usage. Since our measurements of time are a societal construct to begin with, there is quite literally no reason to maintain this preposterous time system which has nothing but negative effects on our well-being.

We already observe Daylight Saving time for more than half the year, making "Standard Time" a misnomer anyway. We the People petition our government to make Daylight Saving Time permanent.
