Introduce legislation that mandates that any media outlet that releases falsified or unsubstantiated information to the public will be fined.
This includes using unnamed sources due to a request of anonymity. Public officials, Police, Firefighters and EMS can be terminated and fined for releasing info prior to a press release or news conference.
This style of reporting is not free speech, it is known as fear mongering to fulfill a personal agenda. It has also caused price gouging, boycotts and panic.
