Many FEMA maps are incorrect showing properties in Flood Zones where no danger of flooding exists. Owners are being economically penalized by having to buy unnecessary Flood Insurance and are suffering a loss in property values due to the incorrect maps. This will have a very negative effect on the overall economy if allowed to continue. Local communities will lose revenue when properties have to be reassessed at lower values due to the existence of these incorrect maps.
