Introduce a new Voting Rights Act to Congress.

Created by S.B. on January 24, 2013

Across the country, our voting rights have been trampled upon. From eight hour long lines in Florida, to Gerrymandering in several red states like Texas and a limited few blue states like Illinois, to congressional redistricting in Virginia, to discriminatory voter ID laws, to the hundreds of thousands of black voters unable to vote due to felony offenses that occurred decades ago, the will of the people has been intentionally suppressed for the political gain for far too long.

Mr. President, We, The People once again need our federal government to protect us from the will of dangerous factions in state governments that wish to trample upon one of our most fundamental civil rights. Our dysfunctional and divided congress can not be trusted to lead on this issue, so you must.
