Ben & Jerry's enacted a corporate policy whereby the highest-paid employee would not have a salary more than five times the amount of the lowest-paid employee. It was recently changed to seven times.
This proposal is even more modest and capitalism-friendly than Ben & Jerry's model. A full-time, minimum wage worker earns $15,080, barely above the poverty level.
The problem isn't that the rich are making more, it's that the poor are making less. This policy would not serve to chastise the rich, but to raise the impoverished's standard of living.
