Introduce a proposal to transfer big oil subsidies directly to the taxpayers in the form of tax credits.

Transferring oil subsides directly to the taxpayers in the form of tax credits will focus responsibility on the oil industry should the loss of those subsides result in higher gas prices. At the same time, it will provide consumers with the means to cover those extra costs or, ideally, to redirect their funds to greener solutions because, since the credit is distributed to taxpayers equally, consumers of the least amount of product will benefit the most while consumers of the most amount of product will benefit the least.
