introduce a regulation that removes the ballot counting apparatus from private ownership. Software must be public.

Created by J.H. on February 04, 2013

Many States have used electronic voting machines and electronic vote counting machines. These are called DRE devices. (Direct-recording electronic) The owners of these machines have refused to allow inspections that would prove whether or not the vote count is accurate. They cite proprietary software. This has no place in elections. There should be a paper trail or a verifiable paper count to back up the machine count. The possibility of vote fraud is built into the system. A regulation outlawing private ownership of voting and ballot counting machines is called for.
