Invalidate the bias policy of the FDA to refuse organ tissue,blood, and plasma donation from gay men.

It has been the FDA's policy to reject all gay men from donating plasma, blood, and organ tissue if they have had sexual intercourse with an man after 1977. This policy was created from pseudoscience and homophobia, when HIV was first discovered. This practice is bias. There is 38 years of medical advancements in technology to screen donors. This "preventative measure" is not ethical according to NIH definitions. It unfairly targets a group based on fear and an inherent characteristic. According to the ARC, the risk of a donor spreading infection is 1 in 2 million. All donations are screened despite the questionnaires. Also, the gov't bureaucracy of the FDA does not match the opinions of medical doctors from the AMA. A UCLA study estimates an additional 219k L of blood could be donated/yr.
