Physicists, like Dr. David Lewis Anderson believe that this can be used to create a new generation, that may lead to FTL travel, a powerful renewable resource, and the ability to cultivate time. Faster Than Light travel, would give the obvious benefit of being able to colonize space, energy source being well over enough to power the EM drive, (Or plasma propulsion.) and maybe even light into matter converters.
If we do cultivate time, we can also use it to grow crops. Which is something we desperately need in the coming up decades.
