Create an Energy Super Highway that will allow electricity and natural gas to flow freely from Boston to San Diego, targeting congested areas of existing energy infrastructure throughout the county.
This Super Highway will consist of a 42" natural gas pipeline and twin 500 KV electric transmission lines. The construction of this will directly create over 55,500 jobs and requiring all materials utilized, to be at least 85% domestically produced, will create additional jobs in many sectors.
A corridor containing natural gas and electric transmission lines together will also spur the creation of private generating facilities (combined cycle, wind, PV, fuel cell, etc.) along the corridor, which will supply badly needed clean energy to replace soon to be retired, aging coal fired power plants
