Invest in Pebble-Bed Thorium Reactors as a Solution to our Energy and Environment Problems.

Thorium is a nuclear fuel that can solve our environment and energy problems. Thorium Pebble Bed Reactors are a reactor that produce no pollution, much smaller than conventional plutonium/ uranium reactors, cannot go critical, cannot be made into weapons material, and has byproducts that last a significantly shorter half-life. This is a new technology with much potential, and a small amount of research can give us these benefits and potentially much more. It will reduce our dependence on foreign fuels as we have much of the thorium deposits on the world.
We petition to Obama Administration to request the various branches of government involved in nuclear research to invest some more time into the research and development of thorium pebble-bed reactors.
