Climate change is a problem for everyone and we are beyond the point of being able to mitigate it's dangerous effects solely with self-restraint.
There is a technological solution out there and the United States government is the only organization on this earth in a position to find it. It will not be a simple solution and might take resources commensurate to or even exceeding the Manhattan project.
So be it. I will gladly give up an even larger proportion of my wages and spend the rest of my life in debt if we can do this one thing. Because nobody else is going to do it.
