Invest in volunteer and evidence-based one-to-one mentoring programs that serve children facing adversity

Created by K.G. on November 07, 2011

With an estimated 17 million children at-risk in America, mentoring is a proven strategy to support the successful development of our nation's youth. Children mentored in evidence-based, one-to-one mentoring programs are less likely to start using drugs or alcohol, demonstrate improved attendance in school, and develop better relationships with parents and friends.

We call on the Obama Administration to continue to invest in proven mentoring programs that support children in military families, the children of single parents, those in low-income families, and the children of incarcerated parents.
