investigate the algae virus ATCV-1 that seems to makes people dumber and clumsier, found in ~50% of population so far.

Created by C.H. on November 12, 2014

Scientists accidentally discovered an algae virus that reduces intelligence and spatial reasoning in people and mice, called Acanthocystis turfacea Chlorella virus 1 (ATCV-1). In the 90 people tested, about half were currently infected with the virus, and those people performed measurably worse on some basic skill tests. Since half of the people tested still had the virus, it seems that our immune systems won't get rid of it normally.

Please fund investigations to see:
1. if the virus is truly causing the skill decline,
2. how the virus is transmitted,
3. if a cure or vaccine can be found,
4. if people will get better after treatment
5. if this is related to Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI)

We want America to be as smart as possible, not mentally crippled by a virus.
