We, the undersigned, urge you to thoroughly investigate all officers on the Ferguson, Missouri police force. After 18-year-old Mike Brown was shot 9 times by a Ferguson police officer, non-violent protests began throughout the community. These protests were met with extreme violence such as tear gas, rubber bullets, and k9 units attacking innocent protesters.
While Ferguson is nearly 60% black, 50 of its 53 police officers are white. Police officers are meant to protect the people, not to gun down innocent teenagers because they "feel threatened."
We, the undersigned, propose that every officer is put on trial for their crimes against the people of Ferguson, Missouri. We propose that Ferguson's police force be radically restructured to represent the city's interests and population.
