We would like the president to create a group that would look at high achieving public educational systems. We believe that currently too much emphasis is being placed on high stakes testing rather than students needs.
Our current system gives billions of dollars to testing companies such as Harcourt Educational Measurement, CTB McGraw-Hill, Riverside Publishing (a Houghton Mifflin company), and NCS Pearson (A UK Company).
We believe that money would be better spent on better teacher training and alleviating social issues that prevent students from achieving their potential.
