Many Vietnam veterans were dishonorably discharged due to their affliction from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, also known as PTSD. This dishonorable discharge doesn't allow them many benefits afforded to other veterans, including affordable treatment options for PTSD. Such treatment options would include access to V.A. hospitals and G.I. bill benefits. The PTSD isn't on their medical record because the military didn't start officially diagnosing PTSD until the 1980s. We the people ask that the Obama administration fast track this investigation as to how this occurred and how to upgrade the discharges of many who deserve better treatment. We ask that those who served in the Vietnam conflict receive the benefits they should have been given when the problem was first noted in the 1980s.
