State AG's around the nation have been talking about a potential deal with the mortgage companies who are responsible for the foreclosure Crisis. Some even claim that the Administration is pressuring them to accept an inadequate deal.
We believe that President Obama should step forward boldly in public and private to ensure that full criminal investigations of these mortgage companies are done, that they do not receive any immunity, to see Justice done.
In addition, the president should act to make sure that these companies can not "pass the buck" on a single penny of settlement cost to investors such as pension funds who have already lost money due to the misleading tactics and securitization of these mortgage companies.
