Investigate and prosecute Wall Street financial executives for crashing the US economy

Created by S.B. on January 26, 2013

The Obama administration has failed to prosecute a single senior financial executive for one of the worst economic meltdowns in U.S. history. The administration has issued statements empathizing with the frustration of Americans who have watched this miscarriage of justice play itself out over the past four years, but these words seem empty in the context of its inaction. Executives, who in many instances gave themselves bonuses for their economic malpractice, should not be above the law. An independent prosecutor would be far more credible than the administration at investigating and prosecuting financial executives, given the campaign donations and relationship of administration officials to firms like Covington & Burling and Goldman Sachs.
