5,986 cases of police brutality were recorded from 2009 to 2010, with 382 fatalities linked to misconduct and $347,455,000 spent in related settlements and judgements. It’s clear police misconduct is a large problem in the United States, even to this day we are facing the same problems.
In the last few years they have shot dogs, abused children, beat women, tazzed people, handcuffed people, beat the elderly and homeless, killed an un armed handicapped man, and killed alot of people. We as a society seriously need to address the problem of police brutality and corruption and at the very least we need an organization to police the police. This is quite obviously a problem, we as a society and community need to first address the problem and then make steps to correct the problem.
