On Tuesday, Jan. 24 2012 App Inc. reported one of the most lucrative quarters of any corporation in history, with $13.06 billion in profits on $46.3 billion in sales.
A New York Times article published January 25th lays claim to the slave labor, hazardous conditions, and human right violations that permeates Apple's supply chain and manufacturing factories in China, specifically Foxconn City. The article's sources were former Foxconn factory employees and Apple executives.
From the article - “We’re trying really hard to make things better,” said one former Apple executive. “But most people would still be really disturbed if they saw where their iPhone comes from.”
The Obama Administration needs to launch an investigation of Apple's supply and manufacturing chain.
