If the President and Congress are going to attempt to protect Americans from Assault Style Weapons (which are the same as other semi-automatic weapons), we should also investigate and pursue banning other items that kill and maim tens of thousands Americans every day.
In 2011, Alcohol and Tobacco have killed more Americans than gun murders, yet we continue to focus and spend resources to take away the rights of legal gun owners in this country who have done nothing wrong. The banning of these weapons will also put many Americans out of work and hurt small business all over this country.
If we are to become a country that values life over freedom then please ban the sale, transport and usage of Alcohol and Tobacco as well to ensure the safety and well being of all Americans.
