While some investigations have been launched into the events that occurred in it Guantanamo Bay and Abhu Ghirab, there is mounting evidence both that the level of interrogation used against detainees was well beyond water-boarding and sleep deprivation and that senior administration officials, including Donald Rumsfeld, were aware of what was occurring and, in fact, were promoting said actions.
The administration officials who did this must be held accountable, otherwise our entire democracy is threatened. The Obama Administration must stop defending these officials, and congress must launch an investigation into how far these human rights violations have gone.
