The corporations who deliver local communications services to consumers and small business -- collectively, "the Cable Industry" ("Cable") -- are defacto monopolies with only the barest of technical competition.
At a national, inter-state level, Cable behaves as a cartel, divvying up the Nation into manipulable local fiefdoms.
Consumers are unprotected and are cornered and coerced into overly expensive "packages" of poorly delivered services.
It is time to recognize the practical reality of Cable monopolies and then to govern them as such. Cable is common carriers and should be treated as such. And consumers should be protected from and assured reasonable services of these Common Carriers.
Investigate and regulate Cable as Monopoly Common Carriers. Protect American Consumers.
