Many smaller and what we would believe are "less developed" countries have faster and cheaper internet service widely available. The US is moving backwards in terms of world standing in internet service, and this is definitely the wrong direction.
Since most people have at most two options for internet service (DSL or cable) it is not a truly competitive marketplace, and it is shameful that we are not an overall leader in both speed and low cost. See http://www.akamai.com/dl/akamai/akamai-soti-q313.pdf?WT.mc_id=soti_Q313
We ask that the cause for this state of affairs be investigated, and the government implement a program to make the US a leader in available internet service and speed, at costs in the range of the leading countries.
