With the execution of Troy Davis in Georgia, and the U.S. Supreme Court's issuance of two stays of execution in one week, it has grown obvious that our capital punishment system in America is broken.
We demand proper accountability when it comes to the ultimate punishment: death.
While most industrialized nations have removed the death penalty from their legal codes, American states still utilize a penalty violative of the Eighth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
We demand a full investigation into the death penalty in the U.S., including:
1) Investigation on arbitrary sentencing, especially in the South.
2) Investigation into racial bias in sentencing, and
3) Investigation into the perceived "effectiveness" of the death penalty.
